I have always been most happiest when working with my hands. Every piece I make is something that I would love to have in my own home. As a potter, I hope that you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating it.

I don’t consider what I do to be “work“, it’s so much more than that. Part play, part meditative practice, working with clay has become an almost daily grounding ritual for me

Most of my work consists of bright colors, bold patterns, and interesting texture on functional stoneware pieces. I utilize the pottery wheel and handbuilding techniques when creating my work.

I take inspiration from many of the things that have brought me comfort at times when I needed it in my life.

I am a largely self taught artist. Growing up in  Rochester NY I was exposed to art and music at an early age through school programs. I always felt an urge to make and alter things to make them my own. In my teenage years I became enamored with punk rock music and the DIY community that formed around it.

I graduated from SUNY Purchase in ’06 with my bachelor’s degree in psychology. Becca went on to start Bocain Designs with her partner Dan Bochichio in 2009.

I am a member of the Collar City Clay Guild and I serve on the Board of Directors for Waterbrook Pottery Studio.
